Your Best Face

Working out takes a toll on your body, your spirit and your face. We asked the pros at Dermatology Consultants to help with a game plan for keeping active faces looking their best.

ML: What daily and frequent care should athletes give their skin at different ages: teens, 20s, 40s, 60s?

DC: Exfoliating toners and cleaners for teens & 20’s, Vitamin C Creams for ALL AGES, SPF for everyone, moisturizers, Retinol Complete for those who already show signs of skin damage. Botox for over active sweat glands.

ML: Are there treatments (surgical and non) for active aging skin to help with sun damage repair?

DC: We like to prevent future aging by encouraging patients to be active with protecting, not just the goal but also their skin, but we can also treat past sun damage with lights and lasers, chemical peels and facial treatments. We also offer body sculpting and contouring, cellulite and body aging solutions using technology and our very own product line, BEST. Make sure you schedule your yearly exams

ML: Remind us how to watch our skin for changes that alert us to needing pro help.

DC: Athletes want to look their best from head to toe and put their best face forward and we offer comprehensive treatment plans to address all of these needs. Watch for new lesions and growths that show signs of bleeding or scabbing, sores that don’t heal. For Moles we check the ABCDE”S – Aysymmetry, Border, Color, Diameter and Evolving.

If you don't have this list completely checked off call our office today to set up a consultation to discuss your options. 1. A Will. In a Will, you state who you want to inherit or distribute your property and name a guardian to care for your young children should something happen to you or your spouse. 2. A Trust. A living trust is a trust that is created during your lifetime. In other words, while you are still alive, you transfer title to your property from your name to that of the trust. There are different types of trusts that can be done depending on your needs. You should discuss with your attorney what assets you want protected so they can advise you on the trust that best suits your needs. 3. Power of Attorneys. With a durable power of attorney, you can give a trusted person authority to handle your finances and property or medical decisions if you become incapacitated and unable to handle your own affairs. 4. Beneficiaries. Naming a beneficiary for bank accounts and retirement plans makes the account automatically "payable on death" to your beneficiary and allows the funds to skip the probate process. 5. Storing your documents. It is a good idea to compile the necessary documentation and make your executor or successor trustee aware of its location. They may need access to the following documents:
